David JohnstoneCFP FMA FCSI

Investment Advisor

David’s career in finance began over 20 years ago as a Business Analyst in the head office of a major Canadian investment management firm, overseeing transfer agency & relationship management for client firms. During this period of rapid expansion in the Canadian investment industry he developed a vast knowledge and understanding of the complexities of financial & asset management.

Over the past 20 years, David has earned the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®), as well as the peer endorsed Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and the advanced financial planning designation Financial Management Advisor (FMA), which reflects a mastery level knowledge of wealth management strategies that enables him to counsel individuals on complex wealth management issues beyond the scope of basic financial planning. In 2003, he was awarded the Michael A. Lee-Chin Education Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Pursuit of Professional Development.

David has presented to groups, published articles for media and presented on the importance of financial planning as an invited speaker at the national conference of the Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

In 1998, David moved to the Georgian Bay area to join a team of advisors where he coordinated financial management for the firm’s most advanced clients. In 2005, he moved his practice to IPC Securities Corporation and since then focused on proactively managing the finances for Incorporated Professionals, Business Owners and their families… serving clients from Georgian Bay to Bay Street.

David’s approach to working with clients is guided by one constant goal: that by working with us you will have better real life, long-term financial results than your peers, or could be achieved on your own.

In his free time, David loves to travel with his wife and two sons, coaches a competitive youth soccer team and serves on the boards of several not-for-profits.
